A few days ago I did some exploring in my town and in a direction I never go was this little gem! This motel has been for sale for awhile.I hope when it does sell the new owners embrace the fantastic retro-ness of it instead of trying to modernize it!I love old signs and the ones for this place don't disappoint.
The pale peachy pink and minty green color combo is divine!
Unfortunately there is no one there to let you inside and I don't know if it'd go over well to call and make an appointment cause I just wanted to take photos of the inside.I'm very curious to see if the inside is as much of a time capsule as the outside appearance.Judging by the office curtains I could see, perhaps yes!
And how freaking cute is the mailbox?!
Ohh cute, I can just imagine mint green kitchens and black and white tiles... It could be such a cute retro resort! x
ReplyDeleteThese kind of motels is what I love the most when I come to the USA (I'm french). Unfortunatly, most of the time they are in poor condition inside... only a few of them preserve the retro look because they want to... only because they lack of money!
ReplyDeleteSome like in Palm Spring are so well restored with vintage furnitures, I would love if more of these kind of motels would be able follow this example!!!

This is my favorite motel in the area. Alex and I have talked about buying it. We managed a motel before and had fun doing so. Of course, if I owned it, i would TOTALLY embrace its retroness. I ADORE the colors of it and would just update things a little, but it would be the retro hotel it was meant to be. Ahhhh to dream.
ReplyDeleteOh my, isn't she a beauty?! The colors and the brick are absolutely perfect, and well the name, that's what does it for me! ;)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!!! I would love to own one of those motels! I hope they don't rip it down. Developers just don't see the beauty in the old.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! That place is so dreamy. I really hope it sells to the right person who will appreciate it's beauty.
ReplyDeleteToo cute! Great pictures. Thanks for sharing.

Peach and Mint will get me every time! Is it bad I want to stay there too just to see how the inside would look?

What a fun post! Earlier this year I moved back to my hometown, which still has a few classic motels and their respective signs hanging around, and have been thinking about doing a similar post, too. Now that I've seen yours, I'm even more inspired.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a relaxing, gorgeous weekend!

Love this post! The US has some really amazing vintage motels...the colors and styling of this are fabulous, hopefully the new owners will appreciate it! :)
ReplyDeleteThis looks like an amazing place. I think you should absolutely call up and make an appointment. Grab a friend, practice your acting skills, dress up to look like a business lady and then go and have a peek!
