First Sunburn of the Year...

I wear sunblock everyday.Without fail I always miss a spot but normally don't realize it.Today that spot I missed reared its ugly head on a small spot where my shoulder meets my neck.Try as I might I always get at least a small sunburn every year.Today after doing my routine of post office, thrifting, lunch and back home with the hubs and kids that fact reared its ugly head, but it was well worth it!

I do apologize for the delay in my give away.I've been hunting and so far have only come up with one item but would like to have a few to offer so its still on pause but coming soon!I did come across some fun finds for myself like this awesome faux fur collar with a darling red bow for $2.00.I am trying to think which coat I have that needs some sprucing up.

and for $3.00 I came across this cute and never worn yellow wedges!I love shoes and it occurred to me that I didn't own any yellow shoes.Maybe because I feared looking like Minnie Mouse but I love these.

On the way home I noticed a payphone which seemed so out of place. In this modern cellphone age you really don't see them too much anymore.

One of the old car dealerships we passed had a 1975 Stringray Corvette for sale. Not a huge fan of a lot of 70's cars but Corvettes are pretty classy you can't deny that.

I never understood why people throw their shoes on telephone wires but it always catches my eye when I notice it and stand there pondering over it too much.Like how many times did the person have to throw them before they stuck.

and that in a nutshell is how my first sunburn of the year went. Its that time of year for my west coast friends to remember to slather on the sunblock. Not to rub it in the face of my friends back in the midwest who were complaining of more snow today.=)

  1. Super cute shoes! .....the yellow ones :)

I never realized what tennis shoes over the wire meant either until I spent the last year in Phoenix. I guess its a signal for drug dealers. Nice huh?

  2. oh it'll be a while yet before there is any teeny chance of sun burn here! However you reminded me of a time we were in Phoenix and I lathered every square inch of myself in sun block, only to discover I'd missed a strip of my neck, of course I only discovered this at the end of the day at which point it was luminous red and throbbing uuuurgh!

  5. Gotta love shoes with bows...I'm a sucker for them. Nice thrifting. I'm jealous of your skills.

As for the shoes, I always think of the scene in 'Big Fish' when they threw their shoes up on the wire as they entered the town. Love that movie.

  6. I always seem to get a little sunburn every year, too. It's no fun.
I love the fur collar and shoes. I don't have any yellow shoes, either. Maybe if I can find some cute ones and we have any money to spare I'll get some this summer.
