Vintage 101...

Today was a great day.My mom stopped by and we loaded up the kids to see the Carlsbad flower fields. That was short lived when we found out it was $10.00...flowers are cool and all but not $10.00 to get in the gate cool, sorry flowers.

A trip to the shoe store for the kids which ended in 2 pairs of shoes for girl child and none for boy child as he became restless and "stereo-typical toddler no one likes in public" type so to the car we went.I told him as we walked back to the car he was only hurting himself here as he now got no new shoes...I don't think it had the same meaning to it as when I tell my girl that.

A quick run to the bike shop to FINALLY get a tire for my stroller and as Wayland found his happy place again my mom suggested staying in the car and letting Heidi and I wonder into a little shop called Vintage 101.

I've been in there a few times before and it doesn't disappoint. The guy that is always there is extremely friendly and helpful. The store has a little bit of everything.Clothes, furniture, knick knacks, home decor and housewares.Mostly its 1960s and 1970s but it does have earlier decades.I have a soft spot for kitsch so I can appreciate all aspects.

Here are some snaps of the shop.Sorry for the small photos,I'm having issue with my photo bucket not letting me resize my photos without distorting them and blah, blah more technical stuff you really don't care about.

  1. Looks like a great shop - love the suitcases. Laughing about the boy toddler / new shoes thing. Mine wouldn't care either - if he doesn't want to do something that minute, he takes a stance that can last for months!

  2. Lakota he'll be 2 in August but he's already starting to get in the terrible 2 act down. He's such a fraud too because the moment we stepped outside the store he was all smiles. The second I drug him into another shop it was like I ruined his life!Haha! Its fun watching them grow and develop their personalities but a little frustrating when you have a personality clash.I mean shoes!Who doesn't want to fake a smile for shoes?I guess that is a girl thing. He'd be happy barefoot...and naked if I let him.

  3. *sigh* I used to have a set of end tables almost exactly like those. My ex-husband convinced me to sell them at a garage sale in the 90's.

  5. Zizzi I could be wrong but from the bottom part it looks like it may be a record holder and then the top you could display things on.
