Splitting Hairs....

When I got pregnant with my son I stopped dying my hair again. After he was born I just stuck with it instead of running back to the hair dye like I did after I had my daughter.I know its considered safe to dye your hair when pregnant,I'm just REALLY paranoid and take an extremely natural approach to everything in my life when I was with child(I even cut out coffe, yes.ME!Cutting out coffee!).I also decided I wanted to grow my hair out.I have a pattern of wanting it long and then hacking it off again.Maybe its because I'm short but I start to feel like cousin It when my hair is too long. Its thick and wavy and I just get frustrated and end up wearing it back.

Well earlier last week I discovered my first gray hair!I told myself I would start dying my hair again when I went gray and enjoy my natural color for awhile.I've been dying my hair since I was 14 so the 3 year break my hair had this last time was nice.Only thing is with long hair its a huge and expensive pain in the arse to maintain.Growing it out had lost its charm as I had cut my hair to my shoulders when cut my bangs back.Wasn't quite good enough.I went big yesterday and look a few deep breaths in front of the mirror to work up the nerve and 20 minutes later,DIY inverted bob!

With step one done I can know easily dye my hair now that I don't have a ton of it!I haven't quite decided what color I want.I'm stuck between dark red or eggplant purple.Leaning towards the purple right now.I was a bit concerned if the kids would be freaked out or the hubby would hate it but everyone seemed to approve.Except maybe Ollie. He kept cocking his head at me for the first hour.Maybe he was just trying to use his Jeidi mind tricks and tell me he wanted treats, that could be it.

  2. Oh, I love your hair. I had something similar last year. Which is also about the time I stopped dyeing my hair. (I had black hair for about 6 yrs.) Anyway, you're color is so pretty.

  6. Your hair looks great - wish I could have a bob, but I have a fat face.

I haven't died my hair for about 13 years. I would like to go back to red/auburn, but I'm afraid to since I have cancer phobias. But the desire to do so is reaallly burning strong.

I'm 42 and I have 2 or 3 gray hairs. Really, they're not so bad. It's true, I never had them until I gave birth! Ha!

  10. OMG YOU LOOK fricking gorgeous with your new haircut! I can't believe you did it yourself... If I ever attempted a cut like that it would look like a 4 year old did it. *lol* I spotted my first gray hairs at about 27 *uhggg* I really wish they could of held off until I was at least 40 or so... Apparently I am not that lucky.

  12. Damn... Who's that sexy lady I see? I say go blue. But like a blue grey. That'd be sweet!

I had greys in my early 20's. Bleach hides them very well. :) I even have a white eyelash. Just one random white lash. LOL

I haven't stopped dying mine since 14, so I don't even remember what my natural colour is, it's certainly too blaaah for me!

  17. Oh god it sounds like the story of my life! When I got pregnant with my daughter, Belladonna Mae back in 2009 (born may 2010) I stopped cutting and dying my hair, studied all I could for ten months about making my life toxin free and more natural and quit coffee as well! Well now she's almost two and I'm still growing my hair out and haven't dyed it at all. I've noticed I'm getting gray hairs here and there, and I'm only 23. Oh lordy. It must be the stress from raising kids Huh?? I used to have a bob and I've always had bangs, black hair and now I'm missing that cut! I used to dye my hair since I was like 13 black black black! Now I'm used to brownish red and I wish I had the balls to dye it dark red or something funky but I too, do not want to scare the crap out of my daughter or man. Having it short like yours is so much easier too, I have wavy fro head and when its short its smooth and silky, especially curly by the face if you let it dry behind your ears! Maybe one day I'll cut mine too!

  18. Inverted bobs are probably the fiercest haircut on the planet. I've done the deed myself (no not DIY--congrats on that, wow) but with me it was a lot of work to maintain, as my hair is naturally thick and curly. Anyway yours looks beautiful!
