While vintage hunting yesterday I failed in the clothes department but that's ok because I did pretty well in the housewares and accessories area.Luckily for me I like all aspects if vintage not just clothes. My shop reflects that too as I sell a little bit of everything.I sometimes wish I could focus on just one area such as clothes or jewelry like some shops but I'm greedy,I like it all!Which also means I collect it all and in return must sell a variety of things to prevent you EVER seeing me on a future episode of "Hoarders"!
I picked up some Christmas hankies, scarves and vanity set that will be hitting the shop soonishly but I didn't get a chance to photograph those for my blog post....kids and blogging, yeah I don't know how some of you guys do it but I can't do a daily post, nope, nope, nope.
I did find these adorable tea cups by Homer Laughlin in the "modern star" pattern.I use to collect this pattern but gave up because its a little out of my price range.Go figure once I gave up and sold the few pieces I did have I now find it fairly regularly!
Also found a few of the Josef Originals birthday angel figurines! There are 2 versions I've seen and the newer ones just are NOT as cute as these beauties. The series celebrates birth through your 21st birthday.I was reeeeeeally tempted to keep these for Heidi but really the last thing I need to be doing right now is starting a new collection.Focus needs to be on saving every little penny in order to move in the spring which will be here before too much longer(and operation buy a house is in full swing).
In life plans I'm sad to report Washington is off the table.I was so excited about moving there that I jumped the gun in announcing it.I have a bad habit of doing that but life likes to throw a curve ball in my life more often than not.But I am excited about moving back to the mid-west!I'll keep it at that as to not jinx it this time around and will share more once things are set in stone.
Love that star pattern! I'm like you stopped collecting some stuff cos it was expensive and really I have enough already and I'm sure you do too.
ReplyDeleteAh don't worry about Washington & announcing it, life is like that, sometimes stuff works and sometimes it doesn't, we moved a few years ago and it was such a huge mistake, fortunately we recognised it quite quickly and came back to where we'd moved from. Good luck whatever you decide!
I want your tea cups! I love them and the Franciscan Starburst crockery you also get in the US, but you can't get them over here :( Boo Hoo!
ReplyDeleteSo adorable! Kori xoxo
ReplyDelete@Straight Talking Mama yeah in the end we decided to move somewhere that was REALLY cheap to live.So even if my hubs continues to have problems finding work I can at least support us with my etsy shop.I am now and its tough but where we are planning on moving it would be doable and I could be making a very affordable house payment instead of wasting money on rent.As much as being a caretaker for my dad the past few months hasn't been very ideal I'm taking advantage of being able to save money as much as I can to move.Want to get my kids into a house they can grow up in!<3
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I LOVE the teacups. I want to start collecting certain patterns, but I don't have the funds.
ReplyDeleteSecond, it makes me sad that you guys are no longer moving to Washington. (My husband and I are planning on moving out there sometime in the next few years.) I do think it's great that you could afford to buy a house in the midwest, though.
beautiful tea cups they look so delicate to lovely simple design. And i love the fairys iv never seen anything like those before really lovely. Good luck with the house move. Dee ;-)
ReplyDeleteay the teacups are too die for and the angel fairies are so adorable..you always snag such cute finds.
ReplyDeleteI had all of those... From 1973 up till I was 21. A few years back when I decided to start selling online, I sold them.. ALL. It breaks my heart now that I did that, but find comfort that I had two sons and not daughters to share them with.
