Whichever Way the Wind Blows....

The last few days have been a mix of good news and bad news.Good news is I've gotten a few things together for my 300 followers give away so expect that soon!Bad news is after the job my hubby had in Alaska fell through he was unable to find work again. As gracious as our friends have been letting him stay with them, with no work on the horizon,a dwindling bank account and 4 months away from each he decided it was time to throw in the towel.Great news is we'll be together again soon at least! But the bad news is its here where I don't want to be and where jobs are hard to come by too.

What does the future hold for my family?I can't say.I don't know where exactly it will be other than not here as I don't care for southern California. Our goal for now is to just make the best of the situation, save money and go from there.

I had some time to process the news and I'll admit yesterday I was pretty blue but sitting around sulking about things you have no control over doesn't do any good.Instead I took the kids for a walk to hunt for lizards. That mission failed but Heidi was equally thrilled over finding a patch of mushrooms and moss growing under a heavily shaded tree.

After parking the stroller in the driveway we weren't quiet ready to go in the house and decided art time was in order. It is hard to stay too upset about anything when you have chalk in your hand doodling stars, hearts and stick figures galore.Pretty therapeutic actually!

Ollie decided to join in the fun by dragging the box of chalk around the driveway and that my pants made for a lovely canvas too.

  1. So happy you get to see your husband soon! It has been a long time. You two are brave for taking a chance :)

Me and my husband are going through the same job dilemma as you! He found out his contract was not being renewed and the dumb ass company decided to tell him a week before he was done...umm...how about a little warning! I mean family of 5 and living in a crazy expensive city living paycheck to paycheck..not cool. I feel your financial pain :(

I am putting all my thoughts of a happy ending for both us out there into the universe! When all is said and done are two little families will be nothing but stronger.

  2. I'm really sorry to hear that:( I can sympathise as my hubby got laid off twice in 6 months,we were so sick of where we were that we just decided to pack up & go somewhere else completely different. He lined up some work ,we went to the great expense (& massive stress) to move interstate ,no mean feat with 4 kids & 3 dogs lol,& when we got down here -no job. We've made it through though & we are still better off than where we were especially where our kids are concerned even if things are a bit tight now & then.
Don't worry something better is coming for you,it's just around the next bend & it will be even better than the last opportunity. The last one just wasn't meant to be is all.:)It will probably happen in the most unexpected way where you least expected to find it & it will be perfect for you.*hugs* to you & positive thoughts that it will happen for you really soon:) xxx

  3. Oh that's too bad you won't be moving up here to Alaska. But it is a difficult state to be employed in and the cost of living is high here to boot.
Well I do hope things work out for the best for you, I wouldn't want to stay in S Cal either. Nan

  4. Aw hon I'm so sorry to hear this, life is a strange thing sometimes it sends you off on a tangent but so often it's for a good reason which will all come clear in the end, even if you just can't envisage it now. Good luck, hope it all works out really soon, but the good this is you get to be with your husband again soon!
