Hair Spray to the Rescue!

Growing out my bangs requires a little more patience than I originally predicted.I have been good though and haven't cut them but I have been tempted on more than one occasion. We seem to be stuck in limbo, they're just past my eyebrows and won't seem to budge.Healthy hair on average grows half an inch per month.Get out you're measuring tape and you'll see exactly how little an inch is.*Note to hairdresser out there too when a client requests a few inches off for a trim some of you need to re-familiarize yourself with a measuring stick pronto!

I've been wearing my bangs pushed over to the side but its starting to get boring.I'm using this post as maybe a helpful motivation for other gals trying to grow out their bangs to stick with it.Now the joy of long hair is you can fake the look of bangs with a rat.Ideally I want my hair all long enough that I can play around with it more than I currently can.Bangs have served me well for 15+ years they are rather limiting in style.I'm ready for a change but oh change is hard sometimes! For all the ladies also getting bored of pushing their bangs to the side I recommend this which has kept me from grabbing the scissors:a big barrel curling iron and hairspray!

I'm sure you can all guess how I did this but in case you can't tell just crank your curling iron up,do one side and than the other curling diagonal (like a V),use your comb to carefully brush out the center part so that it blends and tuck the hair and spray in place. All the look of manicured bangs without actually trimming them.Go forth and continue growing!Really growing out your bangs should come with a support group!

  1. Even long, it's really cute on you. I love your asian top.

I've got the same problem with my bang, difficult to not cut it, it's so boring long hair beyond eyes ;)

I switched back to bangs a couple months ago just for a change, but now I'm growing them out again... but I might trim them... no, I won't... well, maybe... nonono... say, do you have the number for that growing-out-bangs support group? ;)

  3. Took me forever to grow out the old 1980's "wings" bangs I had. But gee, if I looked as good as you, I wouldn't care what my bangs looked like =)

  7. Your bangs look great. Did you pin them or anything, or was the hairspray enough?

  8. Betty, the hair spray was enough for now, they're not quite long enough to pin yet

  10. That looks great! Thank you for the tip... I am just in the process of growing mine out and seem to be at exactly the same stage as you. It's frustrating as hell!

  11. Wow, I just did the opposite...cut bangs into my same-length hair (15+ years of that!)I love them! I guess I am a bit late to the trend, but I think they really made me look younger and happier!

I love yours and I am going to try this technique (because mine are growing out faster than I want them too and I have had no time since last trim).

  12. I am so glad Shielo started selling their Volume Flexible Hairspray online to its customers, because it's hands down the best ever. I have really thick, long wavy hair that looks best when I blow dry it and run over it a few times with a straightener. This is the only hairspray that can control my hair and keep it looking (and FEELING) great all day! I've tried more expensive hairsprays (Elnett, Matrix sleek, etc.) after this went out of stores, and none of them compared.
