This One Didn't Make It...

When you sell vintage sometimes its hard to get to the selling part.As a rule when it comes to clothes,if it fits I keep it!The exception being something I won't use like for example a wedding dress.Doesn't matter if that fit,I'd have no use for it.

Today I'm happy to report that I am about 98% better from my cold.Still a lingering stuffed up nose but no longer miserable and unable to go out and about in the world. To celebrate I dragged my husband to the thrift store with me where I found some cute things for my shop I'll be listing through out the week AND this cardigan which I'm sorry to report if you like it but it fits, thus it didn't make it to the sale pile. =)

Here is a close up of the knit work.I love the color combo,it reminds me of a peacock.3/4 sleeves are always a plus in my book too.

I wore one of my owl necklaces today. Not the best idea against my embroidered peasant blouse as it kept snagging but no real damage done.

Oh and speaking of my shop!My 2 year Etsy anniversary is coming up in just shy of a month. My goal last year was to make it to 600 which I did by the skin of my teeth. This year I'd like to make 1,000 but realized I'm oh 132 sales away from that!Yikes, should have planned better but I'm awful at remembering those types of dates.Like don't ask me my blog anniversary,I have no clue.Anyhow, wish me luck or if you'd like to contribute to helping me reach my goal I'd be much obliged ;)

Just Jeans...

I like dresses,I enjoy dressing up.But some days I just like to be lazy and wear jeans.Does that make me less fashionable?*shrugs*Eh,maybe in some circles perhaps but I like what I like and we can't be the belle of the ball everyday, its not always practical ...as in the kids don't always let me get around to shaving the OTHER leg before my shower has to come to an end.I'm sure walking around in a dress with only ONE shaved leg is a bigger fashion no no than jeans.Jeans don't have to be boring though, especially when paired with a cute top and bakelite jewelry!

Cox Sucks and More Peasant Blouses

If you recall I mentioned I'd be getting internet yesterday,it may have been the shortest time frame I'll ever do business with an internet provider, less than 24 hours. The guy who did it was quick and polite but by the time I got the kids to bed and it was time to get some listing done it wasn't working.I walked over to the router and it was hot to the touch and I could smell slightly the lovely smell of burning plastic!

After an hour of being on hold and talking to tech support they determined it was malfunctioning.Oh really?Good call guy, high five your face. Then they transferred me to the office which they didn't bother to tell me was closed already. So I had to call back this morning.

Despite that I was pleasant when I made my call today but due to the kids being awake I couldn't hear the man I was speaking to every now and then because the kids would laugh or yell and had to ask him to repeat something 3 times...so he hung on up me!After that I came to the conclusion that I wasn't meant to do business with them and called back and cut my service and took back the router so they wouldn't charge me for that.I'd rather take a chance of not always being able to get online by borrowing a connection than give them a dime of my very hard earned money. But enough of that nonsense.Good riddance to bad rubbish as they say.

Other than that the day was pretty darn good.Got lots of fun things for myself and my Etsy shop.Since I've moved back here though I haven't come across much pre 1960s vintage though which is starting to drive me a little batty because I like to have a good variety of all decades in my shop...that is kind of a lie because I noticed I keep most of the art deco stuff I find or pull it out if it doesn't sell quickly..sorry about that. But a fun mix of the 1920s through the 1960s with a dash of fun retro 70s and 80s pieces sneak in from time to time too. That's what I like so naturally that is what I like to offer people.

For myself I did pick up a few peasant blouses. This one here fit so its a keeper.I picked up another that was too big so after I give it a good washing it will be making its way to my shop sometime this week. Here is the blouse I'm keeping and Ollie making a grand appearance.

The shoes you couldn't see in the first photo, they aren't vintage but still darling in my opinion.Thrifted these back in Indiana for $1.00.The Converse jeans I got off Ebay awhile ago,for 99 cents, plus whatever the shipping was..

My waist has finally started to show some progress as I've lost an inch and 1/2 off of it.Being away from my hubby isn't fun but being away from his cooking seems to be doing the trick!Hoping to be back in my dresses soon.Jeans are comfy and all but I do miss dressing up.Its very limiting to me.Alright kids I'm out of here for the night.Till next time!

Peasant Tops...

Blame it on my lovely hippie of a mother but I do adore vintage embroidered peasant tops!Mexican,Hungarian doesn't matter.Maybe I'm a lazy vintage wearer sometimes, don't get me wrong I love a form fitting dress and high heels but honestly it's nothing less than silly to try and wear something like that to for example the park when you're chasing an almost 3 year old up and down slides. Those are days I wear jeans but paired with a comfy pair of ballet flats and a vintage top you can still be stylish.

I picked up this Hungarian peasant top in the back of an antique mall a few weeks ago for $6.00,it has a small hole I had to repair but otherwise in good condition.

It almost makes up for this Mexican peasant top which I had gotten for FREE from my wonderful friend Jan the owns an antique shop downtown and regretfully sold almost 2 years ago,so stupid!I know every vintage seller has at least one regret of something they should have kept, this one is definitely one of mine *le sigh*
