My Favorite Color as a Child...

My favorite color as a child was lavender.I remember I had a lavender Schwinn with a banana seat adorned with lavender polka dots that to this day I'm still slightly upset that my mother got rid of it.I found this dress at an antique mall back in Indiana when I was still pregnant with Wayland.I bought it in hopes that I'd get my old waist line back and though I still have a few more inches to lose it does fit!





It has been pretty off and on rainy this week.Yesterday when I wore this it was originally to photograph this purse which is now listed in my shop =)



Looks like today is going to be more of the same weather wise.I'm not complaining though,I'm quite fond of the rain.

Mellow Yellow....

I know so many of my fellow bloggers are ready for spring and its warmer weather.Being in California again I can't really complain because...well,its ALWAYS spring or summer here.I'm more so looking forward to it because as much as I think its a shame to wish time away I'm ready to get out of here and by late spring I'll *hopefully* be ready to do so.

Yellow always makes me think of spring,maybe its a pastel thing?Maybe its because the sour grass starts to sprout up like crazy around this time making me think spring isn't too far away.It also made me think I'd share some of the yellow items in my Etsy shop right now.

Green Machine....

I really,really,really perhaps obnoxiously so adore Kelly green!I am also really,really,really happy to report that I fit back in this dress again!The time has come and I've finally weened my son off of nursing.I stopped nursing my daughter at 17 months and now that the boy is 17 months my body was telling me ''ok I'm done now thanks".Unfortunately for my little man he isn't taking it as easy as his sister did but he'll forgive me.

I am a big advocate for breast feeding but I won't lie,though there is a part of me that will miss it,there is an even bigger part screaming "Free!I am Free!"Its nice to after 27 months of eating,drinking and minding what I am taking for someone else to be able to eat,drink and if I need to take an Advil and not have to read the back of a label.Plus the last bit of weight will come off a little easier now that my body isn't thinking it need to hang out to the extra fat for the baby so good bye last 15 pounds that's all been hanging around my waist line!You'll be out of here soon!

M.I.A My Waist...

I shamefully admit I gained 50 pounds while pregnant!Wayland will be 6 weeks tomorrow and I've lost 20 so far but I know the other 30 will be much slower coming off.I guess you can consider this stage the "4th trimester",not pregnant but unfortunately still look pregnant.I hate looking into my closet at all the things I still can't wear but I guess I should use it as motivation to loose the rest of this weight asap.

I Miss You...

Ever haunted by something you've sold?It happens to me from time to time.Most recently (and by recent I mean back in May) was this 1930's yellow gown:

Given it helped me pay off a way over due bill at the time but still I miss you gown.

Souvenirs From Jersey...

We spent the 4th of July in Point Pleasant New Jersey.It was a fun trip that I of course ended up forgetting my camera.15 hour road trips aren't the best idea when pregnant and I wouldn't recommend it but it was a last minute "we won't get the chance to do this again for awhile" affair and quite worth it.

Being from California I'm use to high prices...or so I thought.The mid-west has utterly spoiled me and being in a place that has such high prices again was a shock.Our friends live a couple blocks from the beach and it's a tourist town so it's to be expected I suppose but the thrill of treasure hunting in a new town was quickly killed when I started noticing the cost of things.

Despite that if you do search hard enough you will find something and I did for $5.00!It cute 1950's jumper for my daughter.It will be about 3 years before she fits into it but oh kids clothes they really just don't make them like they use to (I could say that for so many things really but clothes for sure is one of them).The jumper will be super cute with a short sleeved blouse with a Peter Pan collar!Sorry the pictures aren't the best.At night when I have time I'm scared to sneak into my daughters room to get it out of the closet due to the fact that if I wake her up it would take FOREVER to get her back to sleep and trying to take them during the day like I did just now ended in me taking a picture of the dress laid out on the bed while she jumped on the bed,fun stuff.

In baby news I'm 37 weeks today!Considered full term now so if he wants to come early I'm ok with that.Preferably not before the 28th when my mother flies in though...too bad babies don't take request on when they arrive.

Hooray Dress Form!

Ok,ok I'm a little late in bragging about this as I got her earlier in the week but I'm now the proud new owner of a vintage dress form!I haven't been able to sell clothes for quite some time since by pregnant belly is well past the point of "sucking it in".The only friend I have in town is one heck of a busy bee so I wasn't about to ask her,she's totally do it but I'd rather have our visits be enjoyable and not making her model for me.So here is my dress form modeling some of the lovely vintage clothes I'm selling... poor thing still doesn't have a name though...it'll come to me though,this past week was just sort of crazy,living in the house of sick,plans for the future and all the jazz....
