Slim Pickings...

As most of you know my original plan of moving in June fell through.I don't feel like unpacking things I've packed so closet and accessories are becoming rather slim pickings! It makes outfit posts hard to do.Also since I'm trying to save money and NOT buy things (near impossible for me) I haven't had pretty "new" things to show off.Oh dear this is making blogging awfully hard!Tee hee!The last house I've fallen in love with I'm only short 4grand which isn't too bad.Hopefully my shop gets out of the "summer slump" and does AMAZING and before you know it I'll be moved into my new home with all my things out again, plus the joy of doing posts on a vintage home!

Yes,those are Hello Kitty sandals =) plus side of having being short is I also have little feet so I can score shoes in the little girls clearance section.I'm not a huge fan of sandals but these are cute and I need to try now.As you can see in this photo I have a silly tan line on my feet from wearing my ballet flats so much so the top of my feet are tan and I'm trying to get my toes to match!Sillier still is I wore jeans too much with my flats so where the cuff of my jeans were the is a big jump in color compared with my lily white legs.

Snail Trees....

If you've followed my blog for a bit you'll note I walk around a lot.Today was no exception and today my outing with the kiddies brought adventures in snail trees.I tried to get my dad out of the house today because a little vitamin D does a body good and some psychical effort wouldn't hurt him either. He only made it to the end of the block before he threw in the towel and rolled himself back home but the kids and I were just getting started. It was 3pm so nice and sunny, cool ocean breeze but the peak hours of the day were gone so out the window went the fear of our fair skinned selves being burned.

I've been able to wear dresses a lot more as my waist starts to VERY slowly slim down from having Wayland over a year ago but today I slummed it and wore jeans because...well,honestly because the kids didn't let me get a shower in so I didn't get to shave.I have to tell you when you go about a week or longer not wearing jeans you realize how horridly uncomfortable they are!

The plus side is I remember to grab my "new" sunglasses I picked up from that antique mall that had gone out of business.I'll take better photos of them in a future blog so you can appreciate the rhinestone detail to them.

The darker spots of the tree are where Heidi decided to start removing the snails.I'm not sure what about this tree the found so appealing but they did.

We ended up at 7-11,I remember we needed milk so it worked out and Heidi got her candy fix.I also noticed for a mere $2.99 they had a western ranger toy set filled with a air pump shotgun that shot those plastic darts out of,you know the kind that stick to glass or the television as we delightfully discovered. That little investment kept us entertained until the kids bedtime.I'm sure some would frown on the notion of letting my kids play with toy guns but hey its never too early to prepare them for the zombie apocalypse.Just something to think about.

A GiveAway!!!

I didn't forget I promise.I wanted so badly to do a giveaway when I reached 100 followers a few months ago and here I am at 127 and I haven't done it yet!So no more putting it off I just got to do it.My big problem was trying to decide WHAT I wanted to give away and I finally decided on these cute 50's confetti frame sunglasses!

I love them and thankfully for you they don't quite look right on me or I'd be keeping them!I'll more than likely be adding some other vintage goodies to the mix for the lucky winner but I don't want to put off doing this any longer so for now sunglasses it is!

The rules are pretty simple, all I ask is that you be a follower of my blog because I'm rewarding you to show my gratitude for taking an interest in lil ole me.Be a follower and leave a comment with an email address I can contact you with should you be the lucky person to win,no need to repost this and hey who wants the extra competition, right?!I know the point of most giveaways is to attract more followers but eh I march to the beat of a different drum I guess,I'll do my own dirty work and promote myself =).I will do a raffle and draw the winners name on Feb. 14th,yes Valentines Day works, love is in the air after all and I love vintage so this is fitting I think. So comment away I'd love for these beauties to go to a great home where they'll be loved!

Slight Obsession ....

I love the old Polaroid Cool Ray glasses. It started with a pair I'd gotten from my grandmother (sadly I need to get the lens replaced after a so called friend way back in 8th grade scratched the lens on them..here I am almost 28 and I still haven't done it,yes I lag I know). Now I'm not sure how many colors this style came in but I am the proud owner of 3 and if there are others I will find them oh yes I will because for as many sunglasses as I have I'm slightly obsessed with these!
